Marysville Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade & Expansion, Phase 2

Project Summary

This project was highly technical and the site was extremely tight. The project was constructed in accordance with strict Department of Ecology requirements.  The project team relied heavily on detailed coordination and daily communication with the City of Marysville and Tetra Tech/KCM.

Project Highlights:

  • Installation of 175 concrete piles each 145 feet long
  • Additon of 10 high-speed surface aerators and eight surface aspirating aerators
  • Modification and expansion of continuous backwash up flow effluent sand filters
  • Installation of a low-pressure, high intensity UV disinfection system and a supplemental hypochlorite disinfection storage and delivery system

  • Construction of a new plant maintenance building

  • Replacement of portions of plant yard piping and associated site civil, electrical, instrumentation and control facilities
