Port of Bellingham Multiple Marine Repair Projects

Project Summary

The project included significant repairs and upgrades to ailing marine structures around Whatcom County for the Port of Bellingham.  Work was performed at four separate waterfront locations including: the Bellingham Cruise Terminal in Fairhaven, the Bellingham Shipping Terminal on Cornwall Avenue near the Central Business District, the Gillnet Docks in Squalicum Harbor, and Blaine End Pier in Blaine, Washington.

Crews and diving teams hauled away damaged material from each of the sites and removed and replaced timber bracing bents, bearing piles, fender piles, pile caps, timber decking, cross bracing, handrails and bullrails, timbers and steel beams and repaired concrete bulkheads.  IMCO pile driving operations were in full swing in early 2014 and met the milestones set forth by the contract.
