Tacoma Central Treatment Plant Flood Protection
This project received the Washington State American Public Works Association’s Chapter Award for Project of the Year in the Emergency/Disaster Preparedness category and the APWA’s National Public Works Projects of the Year for 2016! IMCO and the City were recognized for excellence in management and administration that contributed to the success of the project.
The primary component of the project involved installing 2,500 lineal feet of sheet pile floodwall around the Southern and Northern portion of the City of Tacoma’s Central Wastewater Treatment Plant. The contract also involved construction of five floodgates, three of which are automated, utility relocation, trench safety system, concrete work, grading, restoration, new pump station system, valves and other work at the plant.This project was recognized with an American Public Works Association Project of the Year award.
