IMCO Construction, Kennedy Jenks Partnered on Progressive Design Build

IMCO’s Everett Water Filter Plant Phase 2 Capital Upgrades project has received an ENR West 2026 Award of Merit in the Water/Environment category!

Located in Sultan, Washington, the City of Everett’s Water Filter Plant provides drinking water to more than 675,000 people every day. The City selected IMCO and Kennedy Jenks to deliver the $28 million project through progressive design-build.

The project included fluoride tank and building improvements, replacement of aluminum and polymer tanks, flocculation basin improvements, and upgrades to the east clearwell gates. A central challenge was completing this complex work while maintaining operations at an active water treatment facility serving communities throughout the region. That challenge made collaboration, careful sequencing, constructability planning, and close coordination with City operations staff essential throughout design and construction.

ENR West’s Regional Best Projects program recognizes projects for their ability to overcome challenges, contribution to the industry and community, safety, and construction and design quality. Being selected for an Award of Merit is a well-deserved recognition of the entire project team.
