Columbia River Twin Advanced Membrane Water Treatment Plants

Construction of new water facilities supports the region's explosive industrial and commercial growth

IMCO Construction is building two advanced membrane water treatment plants for the Port of Morrow, representing a major step forward in regional water infrastructure.

Each of the two facilities feature a comprehensive suite of water treatment processes designed to ensure high-quality output. These processes include sand separation to remove larger particulates, chemical injection systems for precise dosing, membrane feed tanks and pumps to maintain flow and pressure, and strainers combined with membrane filtration to remove fine contaminants. The treatment process is further enhanced by ultraviolet light disinfection for pathogen control, followed by chlorine injection and chlorine contact tanks to ensure final water quality and safety. Both plant designs include comprehensive solids handling systems to manage treatment residuals efficiently. Each site is supported by a building to house the membrane filtration equipment, chemical storage, process systems, and administrative, electrical, and communication areas for operations staff.

IMCO crews will perform concrete placement, underground utilities, structural steel, process piping, mechanical equipment installation, and startup and commissioning.
