Shelby Multimodal Hub Center Project

Expanding rail capacity to meet the needs of a growing economy.

IMCO oversaw construction of a federally funded railroad project for the City of Shelby and the Northern Express Transportation Authority. This effort represented the fourth and final phase of a major regional railroad upgrade that relocated a small BNSF railway facility from downtown Shelby to an industrial park just outside the city. The facility had been a critical, over-capacity rail hub connecting the growing economies of North Dakota and Alberta with the West Coast.

The new Multimodal Hub Center was designed to handle increased traffic and accommodate longer trains, providing the capacity needed to support continued economic growth in the region.
