Rocky Reach Trash Boom System Upgrade
Preserving river health to protect communities in Wenatchee, Washington
This project involved improvements to the floating trash boom system at Rocky Reach Dam in Wenatchee, Washington. The trash boom system is designed to prevent debris from entering the dam. IMCO crews disconnected the existing cable from the upstream side of the dam and repositioned the floats parallel to the shoreline. After assessing the condition of the existing floats, the team removed the timber and old cable, replacing them with new cable. Damaged floats that did not meet quality standards were replaced with new ones, which were moved into position and secured during installation of the replacement cable.
