Tyler Kimberley Assumes the Role of CEO for IMCO

IMCO President Tyler Kimberley has been named CEO of IMCO, succeeding Founder Frank Imhof. Frank will maintain his role as IMCO’s chairman of the board. This transition is part of IMCO’s leadership evolution and the succession plan for IMCO, which has been underway for the past decade. Tyler became President in January 2013 and will continue that role, now President/CEO. Frank and Tyler are committed to a collaborative, and intentional partnership, dedicated to helping IMCO thrive with a strong future, carrying out the corporate mission to proudly build complex projects with integrity, excellence, and safety. 

Frank will continue his role representing IMCO as an industry leader and Associated General Contractor of Washington liaison.

Tyler’s Leadership

Tyler has remained committed to IMCO’s core values of integrity, excellence, competitiveness, hard work, teamwork, and family. Under his leadership, IMCO’s vision has evolved to focus on serving private and public clients with complex projects that necessitate collaboration, strong partnership, and innovation. IMCO’s legacy includes supporting strong families, providing living-wage jobs and dynamic careers, and supporting local non-profits to strengthen community and provide equitable opportunity for youth. 

Family Business

Patti and Frank Imhof founded IMCO in 1978 and have had a vision for their business to thrive into future generations. They each grew up in family businesses and throughout their lives have experienced the advantages, complications, and challenges inherent in family business. The Imhofs, with their daughters and sons-in-law, attended the Harvard University Families in Business program in 2010 to help navigate their own succession plan.

Tyler Kimberley is Frank and Patti’s son-in-law and worked summers for IMCO during high school and college. He returned to IMCO in 2007 after managing underground construction contracts for Frank Coluccio Construction in Seattle and on the island of Oahu.

Headquartered in Whatcom Country, the company now has offices in Bellevue, Moses Lake, and their main office and shop facility in Ferndale, Washington. IMCO’s projects are located across the northwest region, with work currently stretching as far as Ennis, Montana where the team is retrofitting a 100-year-old dam facility, demolishing and replacing turbines to improve hydroelectric power to the surrounding region and make the facility more fish-friendly. IMCO is also performing a contract for WSDOT, building a beautiful new ferry terminal in Mukilteo.
