Maritime Academy Infrastructure - Seattle Central Community College

The Maritime Academy Infrastructure Project included removal and disposal of existing timber piers and creosote-treated timber pilings, as well as vertical timber lagging and timber wale members of the bulkhead.  Crews improved upland facilities and reconstructed two new piers that required 24 new steel pilings, grated decking, steel stringers, steel bullrail, utilities and mooring cleats.  IMCO installed approximately 200 lineal feet of sheet pile wall including a 30-inch wide concrete pile cap, four new pile mooring dolphins, landscaping at the eastern edge of the bulkhead and shore pedestals, water, sewer, power and storm utilities onsite.  Also included on the contract were renovations to the existing electrical and storage facilities.

IMCO self-performed over 85% of the project including all upland and marine utilities, earthwork, demolition, pile driving, and pier construction.

• All work on this project was performed on an extremely tight ¼ acre site
• The entire project was completed in four months to meet the tight in-water work windows and to minimize disruption to actively operating Seattle Community College Maritime Academy, which shared the work site
