Everett Water Pollution Control Facility GC/CM Project

Project Summary

IMCO General Construction was the general contractor and construction manager for the City of Everett’s $22 Million Phase C1 Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) Project. The IMCO GC/CM team worked with the engineering firm to add nearly 30% plant capacity to the existing municipal landmark located on Smith Island along Interstate 5 in Everett and ensure the operators' perspective was incorporated into the design process.

The WPCF facility treats wastewater from the City of Everett, Mukilteo, Alderwood, and Silver Lake and helps clear rivers, lakes, and streams of pollutants.  With these upgrades, the facility has the ability to treat 40 million gallons per day.

The project included construction of a new (third) secondary clarifier, an expansion of the solids contact basin, a third trickling filter unit, and an additional 300 HP effluent pump at the site of an existing facility where operations remained active throughout the duration of the project.
